Fonterra Whareroa – Project Hoiho – EC6

Fonterra Whareroa have constructed a new plant room Energy Centre 6 under project Hoiho. The project was based on reducing the risk due to reticulated ammonia at Whareroa site.

The EC6 plant comprises multiple ammonia water chillers and heat-pumps. All ammonia is contained within the EC6 plant and chilled water is reticulated throughout the site to provide process cooling.

McMahon completed the MV design works for the project with 3 x 2.5MVA 11/0.69kV ester filled transformers, two 1.5MVA transformers and circuit breaker ring main units.
