NZDF HV Maintenance

The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) is one of New Zealand’s largest organisations. The military side of the NZDF is branched into The Royal New Zealand Navy, The Royal New Zealand Air Force and The New Zealand Army with various bases and camps across New Zealand.

In 2019, McMahon was engaged by the NZDF to develop a maintenance specification for the Devonport Naval Base. The specification covered the longer term maintenance requirements for all HV assets on site. The Whenuapai Air Force Base was also added to McMahon’s scope later on where a maintenance specification was also produced for the Whenuapai Air Force Base HV assets.

Once the maintenance specification was completed, McMahon was engaged as the engineer to the contract under NZS 3910 for the entire maintenance work on site at both the Whenuapai Air Force Base and Devonport Naval Base.

During the maintenance work, a number of equipment upgrades and additional design work as required which was also managed by McMahon, this involved equipment replacements, as building,  technical reviews and studies.
