Z Energy JOFS CHCH Airport – Electrical Upgrade Project
Due to aged plant with diminishing technical support and availability of spare parts, Z Energy made the decision to replace the following electrical and automation equipment at their Christchurch Airport Jet-A1 storage and distribution terminal.
- Main switchboard
- Motor soft starters
- Site PLC
- Site SCADA
- 24VDC power supply system
- Replace non-essential distribution board
The project included the following additional works:
- Remove internal switchroom wall and install seismic bracing
- Level switchroom floor
- Install new PLC marshalling cabinet on end of the existing PLC cabinet
- Extend the hard wired ESD safety relay system
- Install new 3 phase 15kVA UPS, bypass switch & distribution board
- Install EDAC alarm auto dialler
- Install seismic sensor
- Install new field cable marshalling cabinet
- Install new alarm sounders & beacons
The majority of cutover and commissioning of the new equipment and systems was completed during multiple night shifts to reduce disruption to the terminals normal day operations.
